
This tutorial explains procedures to install Kubuntu operating system into computer or laptop. It is version 21.10 with Long Term Support for next five years. This procedures if you want to erase Disk and install Kubuntu as main OS. Enjoy Kubuntu!
Kubuntu is an open-source operating system built according to the Linux Kernel. Kubuntu is created under the Ubuntu ideologies like making the software available for free, so people can use it in their local language and customize it according to their requirements.
Kubuntu uses a KDE Plasma Desktop rather than a GNOME desktop environment, and it also uses the same underlying system because it is a part of the Ubuntu project. Recently, Kubuntu has released their latest version, “20.10” so we wil show how to install it step by step on your computer.
Kubuntu is the official flavor of Ubuntu with the KDE 5 Plasma desktop environment. KDE is one of the modern desktop environment on Linux. It is really fast and clean. The KDE 5 Plasma desktop environment runs on low memory and works pretty great. I really love KDE desktop environment a lot.
DOWNLOAD KUBUNTU 21.10 LINUX AND ETCHER TOOL
First, you will need to download a ISO image of the latest version of Kubuntu. This can be found here. From that page, select "Download" option, you will need to select which release you want.
For this tutorial, we’ll use balenaEtcher, as it runs on Linux, Windows and Mac OS. Choose the version that corresponds to your current operating system, download and install the tool.
CREATE A BOOTABLE USB STICK
Step 1: Insert the USB flash drive into your computer.
Step 2: Double-click on the balenaEtcher download file to run the app. Press Flash from file to select the downloaded Kubuntu 21.10 Linux ISO file on your computer.
Step 4: Press Flash! to begin writing Kubuntu 21.10 Linux to the USB flash drive.
After a few minutes, the USB flash drive will be ready for booting into Kubuntu 21.10 Linux.
Once you have booted to a full KDE desktop, you can test Kubuntu before installing it. After giving it a try, all you have to do to begin the process to Install Kubuntu 21.10.
Step 1: Insert the USB flash drive into your computer.
Step 2: While the system would restart and initialize start pressing F9 (or Del or F10 or F12 or Esc) to display Boot Menu. The key could be different on different make and model, try other keys as per Make and Model of your machine.
Step 3: From the Boot Menu, select Flash Drive as Boot Device and Hit Enter. It may be at different serial number in different systems. Wait for the system to Boot from the Flash Drive.
Step 4: Now, the installation will start, choose Kubuntu.

Step 3: From the Boot Menu, select Flash Drive as Boot Device and Hit Enter. It may be at different serial number in different systems. Wait for the system to Boot from the Flash Drive.
Step 5: Choose the language then Select the Install Kubuntu option.
Step 6: Here you can verify that your keyboard layout is correct and make any changes if necessary. Again, click Continue to proceed.
Step 7: Ensure that Your computer has enough room for Kubuntu and your are connected to the Internet so that you can download updates and third-party software during the installation of Kubuntu. then Click Continue to proceed.
WARNING: Installing Kubuntu on your entire hard disk will erase all data that is currently on the drive.
Step 9: Check this out for accuracy, use the Go Back buttons to make any changes if needed, then click on Continue to begin the process.
Step 10: Next, select your timezone. You can click on the map or make your selection from the drop-down lists. Click Continue to proceed.
Step 11: Next, you will need to create a User account. This account will have full Administrative privileges. Fill in the required information and select your login options, then click Continue.
Step 13: Once the installation has finished, you will be prompted to reboot, and you can Click Restart Now.
Step 14: Remove the installer flash disk drive and press Enter.
Congratulations! you will enjoy your computer a new with Kubuntu 21.10.
