Clean Install MakuluLinux Shift Ubuntu on PC - Installation Guide Step by Step

Recently I wrote about Linux Lite 5.8. In this tutorial, we’ll see how to install Makutu Linux on your Computer as main OS.

Makulu Linux is an unusually creative operating system that developer Jacque Montague Raymer is constantly changing with each major upgrade. Some of these changes are radical and innovative.

MakuluLinux Shift is a well-designed Linux distro that blends several mainstream design concepts with performance features not found elsewhere. One of Shift’s most unique features — which Raymer greatly expanded the ability to modify major design elements effortlessly.

It is fair to say that Makulu just makes you want to use it because it looks really good. I don't believe in style over functionality as a general rule but first impressions do count and Makulu leaves a great first impression.

Upon First boot after Installation, the user will be presented by the post install utility which will guide him through various settings easily, This will assist new comers to linux to skip difficulty doing the basic nessecities that are required after installation as well as allow them to easily customise the system, Advanced users will also appreciate the ease of being able to simply select an option and skip a series of tiring steps, the Utility is very automated requiring only user interaction when needed.

If you don't believe me, follow these steps to try Makulu Linux on computer. There are a lot of steps but there is nothing too challenging and it is very much worth it.

DOWNLOAD MAKULU LINUX AND ETCHER TOOL

You need an ISO image of Makulu Linux. You can Download it from the Official Makulu Linux download page. You also need a 16GB USB Flash drive which will be used as a bootable installation medium.

To install Makulu Linux, you need to write your downloaded ISO to a USB stick to create the installation media. This is not the same as copying the ISO, and requires some bespoke software.

For this tutorial, we’ll use balenaEtcher, as it runs on Linux, Windows and Mac OS. Choose the version that corresponds to your current operating system, download and install the tool.

CREATE A BOOTABLE USB STICK

Step 1: Insert the USB flash drive into your computer.

Step 2: Double-click on the balenaEtcher download file to run the app. Press Flash from file to select the downloaded Lite ISO file on your computer.

Step 3: Press Select target and choose the correct USB flash drive from the list.

Step 4: Press Flash! to begin writing Makulu Linux to the USB flash drive.

After a few minutes, the USB flash drive will be ready for booting into Makulu Linux.
