This tutorial explains installation steps for PureOS 8.0 GNU/Linux. PureOS is a fully free computer operating system based on Debian with modern desktop (GNOME 3.26) and latest software (rolling release). PureOS installation is very easy for beginners and it doesn't requires internet connection. The whole installation takes only 10 minutes and already includes all device drivers. However, while you can perform this tutorial in singleboot mode, it's best to install PureOS in a blank computer. Read each step carefully and happy installing!

Until then, those of you who wish to take the PearOS distro for a test drive can download the Live ISO image right now, where the developer invites anyone to contribute with suggestions or ask questions.
DOWNLOAD PUREOS LINUX AND ETCHER TOOL
You need an ISO image of PureOS Linux. You can Download it from the Official PureOS Linux download page. You also need a 16GB USB Flash drive which will be used as a bootable installation medium.
To install PureOS Linux, you need to write your downloaded ISO to a USB stick to create the installation media. This is not the same as copying the ISO, and requires some bespoke software.
For this tutorial, we’ll use balenaEtcher, as it runs on Linux, Windows and Mac OS. Choose the version that corresponds to your current operating system, download and install the tool.
CREATE A BOOTABLE USB STICK
Step 1: Insert the USB flash drive into your computer.
Step 2: Double-click on the balenaEtcher download file to run the app. Press Flash from file to select the downloaded PureOS ISO file on your computer.
Step 3: Press Select target and choose the correct USB flash drive from the list.
Step 4: Press Flash! to begin writing PureOS Linux to the USB flash drive.

After a few minutes, the USB flash drive will be ready for booting into PureOS Linux.
INSTALLING PEAROS 10 STEP BY STEP
Step 1: Insert the USB flash drive into your computer.
Step 2: While the system would restart and initialize start pressing F9 (or Del or F10 or F12 or Esc) to display Boot Menu. The key could be different on different make and model, try other keys as per Make and Model of your machine.
Step 3: From the Boot Menu, select Flash Drive as Boot Device and Hit Enter. It may be at different serial number in different systems. Wait for the system to Boot from the Flash Drive.
Step 4: Boot your system with bootable Pear Media or ISO. Select Test or install PureOS.
Step 5: Pear OS 10 Live Desktop. Click on Install PureOS icon shown in Desktop to start installation.
Step 6: Installation started, select Language, this will be the language of whole interface of PureOS.
Step 7: Select a region to determine your timezone and currency automatically.
Step 8: Keyboard layout settings.
Step 9: Installation type. use Manual Partitioning for New Users. Please note this will erase data.
Step 10: Delete all the partitions.
Step 11: Click on Create.
Step 12: Create a swap partition. This doesn't need to be huge (1 or 4GB is enough), it's necessary, press OK.
Step 14: After that press Next.
Step 16: Read carefully each of the summary and then start the actual installation. Make sure you've verified OK to all of your choices. If you press OK. you cannot revert back anymore.
Step 24: Connect to a wifi network. This is optional, and you can skip it.
Step 25: Turn on location service. Optional, you can skip it.
Step 26: Connect Your online accounts or click skip.
Step 27: PureOS is ready now.
WHAT TO DO AFTER INSTALLING PUREOS
Update PureOS 10 Linux using command line in the Terminal
All you have to do is to fire up the Konsole emulator app or another terminal emulator of your choice.

Let’s try and update the system using:
apt-get update
apt-get update
Now try this:
apt-get upgrade
Pay attention to the progress of the Terminal and enter Y when needed.
In some cases, you may need to reboot your Ubuntu system for the installed updates to work properly.
