HamoniKR is a very nice, smooth, polished and user-friendly distribution. However, it is, at it's core, just Linux Minux with two special PPAs for Koreans on top. The pieces which makes it different from Linux Mint are mostly geared towards Korean users.
HamoniKR does offer a very elegant and polished desktop which is nicely configured with a fine theme so it is a good distribution for everyone even if most of the HamoniKR-specific pieces which sets it apart from plain Linux Mint are geared towards Korean people.
MINIMUM AND RECOMMENDED SPECIFICATIONS
- CPU (x64): Harmonica is recommended for all modern computers.
- RAM: 1GB RAM / 2GB RAM or more.
- Hard disk: 15G / 20G or more.
- Resolution: 800x600 / 1024x768 or more.
DOWNLOAD HAMONIKR LINUX AND ETCHER TOOL
You need an ISO image of HamoniKR OS Linux. You can Download it from the Official HamoniKR OS Linux download page. You also need a 8GB USB Flash drive which will be used as a bootable installation medium.
To install HamoniKR OS Linux, you need to write your downloaded ISO to a USB stick to create the installation media. This is not the same as copying the ISO, and requires some bespoke software.
For this tutorial, we’ll use balenaEtcher, as it runs on Linux, Windows and Mac OS. Choose the version that corresponds to your current operating system, download and install the tool.
CREATE A BOOTABLE USB STICK
Step 1: Insert the USB flash drive into your computer.
Step 2: Double-click on the balenaEtcher download file to run the app. Press Flash from file to select the downloaded HamoniKR OS ISO file on your computer.
Step 3: Press Select target and choose the correct USB flash drive from the list.
Step 4: Press Flash! to begin writing HamoniKR OS Linux to the USB flash drive.

Step 2: While the system would restart and initialize start pressing F9 (or Del or F10 or F12 or Esc) to display Boot Menu. The key could be different on different make and model, try other keys as per Make and Model of your machine.
Step 3: From the Boot Menu, select Flash Drive as Boot Device and Hit Enter. It may be at different serial number in different systems. Wait for the system to Boot from the Flash Drive.

Step 4: When booting for the first time, the following selection screen appears. Select Start HamoniKR.
Step 5: The HarmoniKR supports Live CD mode. You can try out various features of Harmonica before installation. For installation, run HamoniKR installation from the desktop icon.
Step 6: The installers asks what language you would like to use during the installation process. Korean is selected by default.
Step 7: Choosing keyboard layout's next and this section's also got options using all languages and keyboard layouts.
Step 8: Next choice is to decide if you want to Install Multimedia codecs. If you do not check it, you can install it separately after the OS is installed, Click Continue.
Step 9: Erasing the disk and installing HamoniKR is a method of erasing the entire hard disk in use and installing it. Click Install Now. It is the operation of erasing the disk and separating the partitions according to the environment.
Step 10: Please click Continue.
Step 11: This is the part that sets the time of the country you live in. Please click Continue.
Step 12: This is the part where you choose your username and password. Enter your name and password and click Continue.
Step 13: This is the installation screen. Please wait.
Step 14: An installation complete message appears. Please click Restart Now.
Step 15: A message will appear asking you to remove the bootable USB and press ENTER. Remove the bootable USB connected to the computer and press Enter.
Step 16: This is the login window that appears after restarting and booting. Enter the password you set during installation.
Installation is complete.
WHAT TO DO AFTER INSTALLING HAMONIKR LINUX
Update HamoniKR Linux using command line in the Terminal
All you have to do is to fire up the Terminal emulator app or another terminal emulator of your choice.

Let’s try and update the system using:
sudo apt-get update
Followed by your password.
sudo apt-get update
Followed by your password.
Now try this:
sudo apt-get upgrade
Pay attention to the progress of the Terminal and enter Y when needed.
In some cases, you may need to reboot your HamoniKR system for the installed updates to work properly.
