New GNU/Linux distributions keep appearing in the industry and today I will be introducing to you GNU/Linux users around the world a new and as usual an amazing distribution named Uruk GNU/Linux
Uruk GNU/Linux a distribution of the GNU operating system, with the Linux-libre kernel. It comes ready for home and office use, and programs are easy to find and install. Uruk GNU/Linux is based on Trisquel GNU/Linux core.
Uruk GNU/Linux is a complete, user-friendly desktop operating system with strong commitment in free software. Uruk 2.0 is derived from Trisquel 8 Flidas that is derived from Ubuntu. Uruk features MATE Desktop as its interface, with LibreOffice and VLC there, plus Emacs and GIMP preinstalled, and completed with Ubiquity to easily install the system. If you kindly want a 100% free distro that is user-friendly and actively developed, I wish you'll be happy with Uruk.
DOWNLOAD URUK XFCE LINUX AND ETCHER TOOL
You need an ISO image of Uruk XFCE Linux. You can Download it from the sourceforge Uruk download page. You also need a 8GB USB drive which will be used as a bootable installation medium.
To install Uruk XFCE Linux, you need to write your downloaded ISO to a USB stick to create the installation media. This is not the same as copying the ISO, and requires some bespoke software.
For this tutorial, we’ll use balenaEtcher, as it runs on Linux, Windows and Mac OS. Choose the version that corresponds to your current operating system, download and install the tool.
CREATE A BOOTABLE USB STICK
Step 1: Insert the USB flash drive into your computer.
Step 2: Double-click on the balenaEtcher download file to run the app. Press Flash from file to select the downloaded Uruk XFCE ISO file on your computer.
Step 3: Press Select target and choose the correct USB flash drive from the list.
Step 4: Press Flash! to begin writing Uruk XFCE Linux to the USB flash drive.

After a few minutes, the USB flash drive will be ready for booting into Uruk XFCE Linux.
INSTALLATION OF URUK XFCE LINUX
Step 1: Insert the USB flash drive into your computer.
Step 2: While the system would restart and initialize start pressing F9 (or Del or F10 or F12 or Esc) to display Boot Menu. The key could be different on different make and model, try other keys as per Make and Model of your machine.
Step 3: From the Boot Menu, select Flash Drive as Boot Device and Hit Enter. It may be at different serial number in different systems. Wait for the system to Boot from the Flash Drive.
Step 5: Hence any changes you make will not affect your currently installed operating system or data stored on your hard drive. Once ready, begin the Uruk XFCE installation by clicking on the Install Install Uruk 2.0 icon on your desktop.
Step 6: The first screen will ask you in welcome installation to choose language and press Continue.
Step 7: Now after the Uruk Loader you will see a screen like this After that checkmark, Download Updates while installing Uruk.
Step 8: Select the Erase disk and install Uruk And click Install Now.
Step 9: You will get a confirmation pop-up like this Click on Continue.
Step 11: Choose your favorite keyboard layout and click Continue. By default English (US) keyboard is selected and if you want to change, you can change it.
Step 12: Add your Name, Computer's name, Nickname/ username, Password And click on Continue.
Step 14: Click on Restart Now and wait for some time to get your system restart.
Step 15: The computer will then start to shut down and ask you to remove the USB disk and press enter.
Step 17: Once your system has been rebooted after the installation then you will get the beneath login screen, enter the password that you have set during installation.
WHAT TO DO AFTER INSTALLING URUK XFCE LINUX
Update Uruk XFCE Linux using command line in the Terminal
All you have to do is to fire up the Terminal emulator app or another terminal emulator of your choice.

All you have to do is to fire up the Terminal emulator app or another terminal emulator of your choice.
Let’s try and update the system using:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get update
Followed by your password.
Pay attention to the progress of the Terminal and enter Y when needed.
In some cases, you may need to reboot your Uruk XFCE system for the installed updates to work properly.
