Garuda Linux is based on Arch Linux. It is provided with all major Desktop environment like KDE, GNOME, Xfce, Cinnamon, MATE, LXQt-kwin, Wayfire, Qtile, BSPWM and i3wm.
In this article we will use The Garuda KDE Dragonized Gaming Edition of Garuda Linux offer a dark, blurry and fully immersive Plasma experience. The workflow is mac-alike with the appmenu baked right into the top bar.
Garuda OS is new in the world of Linux Distributions contains advanced and enhanced features with outstanding performance. The C-DAC (Center for Development of Advanced Computing), IITs and 45 other institutes are the project participants.
Garuda is an open-source operating system with a terminal-based text editor that makes the system easy and understandable. Also, it provides several GUI tools to manage the system out of the box. As we mentioned above, it is an Arch-based Linux distro, ensuring that users will always get the latest version.
There are many ways to install the Garuda Operating System on your system, such as Virtualbox and through the bootable drive. But in this learning tutorial, we will guide how you can install it on PC, which is pretty simple.
RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS
Before installing the Garuda Linux distribution in the system, there is some prerequisite of it:

DOWNLOADING GARUDA LINUX
You must download Garuda Linux in the form of an ISO file to install it on your computer. To download the latest Garuda Linux ISO file to your computer, head over to the official website.
To install Garuda KDE Dragonized Gaming, you need to write your downloaded ISO to a USB stick to create the installation media. This is not the same as copying the ISO, and requires some bespoke software.
For this tutorial, we’ll use balenaEtcher, as it runs on Linux, Windows and Mac OS. Choose the version that corresponds to your current operating system, download and install the tool.

CREATE A BOOTABLE USB STICK
Step 1: Insert the USB flash drive into your computer.
Step 2: Double-click on the balenaEtcher download file to run the app. Press Flash from file to select the downloaded Linux Garuda KDE Dragonized Gaming ISO file on your computer.
Step 3: Press Select target and choose the correct USB flash drive from the list.
START GARUDA DRAGONIZED GAMING INSTALLATION
Step 1: While the system would restart and initialize start pressing F9 (or Del or F10 or F12 or Esc) to display Boot Menu. The key could be different on different make and model, try other keys as per Make and Model of your machine.
Step 2: From the Boot Menu, select Flash Drive as Boot Device and Hit Enter. It may be at different serial number in different systems. Wait for the system to Boot from the Flash Drive.
Step 3: The first welcome screen with the Garuda grub select the Boot with open source drivers to start live boot.

Step 4: Click Install Garuda Linux to start installation.
Step 5: The first window will appear to ask what language you prefer while using Garuda System. Select the language according to choice and navigate towards the Next button.
Step 6: Region and Zone, Set your region and zone then click Next.
Step 7: Keyboard, Choose your favorite keyboard and click Next.
Step 8: Partitioning, If you don't care, choose Erase Disk. This is recommended if you want to use Garuda as main OS. you can choose to set swap for storage configuration then click Next.
Step 9: Create User, Input all required user information and set password, then click Next.
Step 10: Now you can check the summary of all information you provided before you begin installation. If the information is correct click Install.
Step 11: To continue the installation, click Install now.
Step 13: Now Garuda Linux is installed, check the Restart Now box and click done then remove the USB hard drive to restart the system safely.
Step 14: You can now login with username and password as configured above.
Step 15: You will ask to start the setup assistant to finish your installation, Click on Yes.
The setup assistant will open up after the first boot process has been completed. It will run you through some essential steps which should be performed after an installation and offers an additional wizard which can install a lot of common Linux software.
The first prompt will ask you to update the system, which is highly recommended. This will run the update, update mirrorlists to get the best download speed, a few additional maintenance tasks and most importantly, it can apply eventually required manual interventions automatically by updating the garuda-update script to the latest version before proceeding with the actual update.
